Safe for operators and non-abrasive for instruments
BICARmed cleaning system, is a new revolutionary pre-treatment of all RMDs before disinfection and sterilization. The system allows maximum removal of dirt from even the most complex instruments (robotics, endoscopic, electrosurgery and orthopedic tools), ensuring homogeneity of the result and significantly increasing the performance of the entire reprocessing cycle.
It is non-abrasive, non-corrosive, biodegradable and totally safe for the operators and environmentally friendly.
Bicarbonate success as a cleaning solution is due to the fact it is a mild alkalinity: thanks to the neutralisation process it reacts with both acids and bases. When baking soda encounters an acid, it reacts to form water and carbon dioxide gas. This reaction helps to lift and loosen grime and stains, making them easier to clean. Similarly, when it reacts with bases, it forms a slightly alkaline solution that can cut through grease and neutralise odours. This versatile chemical reaction is what makes baking soda so effective in a variety of cleaning tasks.

BICARmed equipments uses only water, air pressure and SAFEKlinc, a special compound of Sodium Bicarbonate that dissolves in water
The gentle physical and chemical actions allow the treating of many kind of supports, including iron steel, aluminium, fiber glass and many others.
SAFEKlinic® is an environmental-friendly product, non toxic and non hazardous for the operator.
The particular specification of the product provides efficient and smooth blasting operations. Suitable for the following applications:
- Cleaning for surgery tools, medical devices and many other technical tools.
- Removal of organic materials, biofilm, glue, cement and molding residues.
- Degreasing and removal of contaminated and various coatings.
How does it work?
BICARmed® SAFE CleanBox is a medical device that uses SAFEKlinic sodium bicarbonate in granules, and low pressure compressed air.
SAFE CleanBox is a closed cabin with inside two handpieces: one dedicated to the projection of the air-water-SAFEKlinic mixture and the other for rinsing with water and compressed air. The two handpieces are both removable from their seats to facilitate the operator in washing complex or bulky objects and are controlled by two pedals placed on the ground in front of the cabin at the operator’s position.

The system is complete with a suction system for the depression of the cabin and an exhaust system for waste water.
A large front glass, equipped with a magnifying glass, allows an instant verification of the effectiveness of the cleaning. There are also two certified anti-cut gloves, secured by two removable external flanges to facilitate the quick replacement.
To optimize work times, some models have automatic doors and loaders to facilitate the entry and exit of the tray older instruments and all operations for the working of the SAFECleanBox equipment can be controlled either by the buttons inside the cabin or by the touchscreen panel located on the upper wall of the cabin.
Better protection, operator safety
BICARmed®Technology is a medical device for the pre-treatment of all reusable medical devices.
It is the only solution totally safe for operators because the treatment is performed into a close cabin using only water, air pressure and sodium bicarbonate, without chemicals.
The BICARmed® equipment (SAFECleanBox) is made up of a cabinet that protects the operator and the environment by the contamination coming from the spray, because the working area is under vacuum using a HEPA 14 filter cartridge. In this way there are better working conditions which generate greater attention in cleaning activities by the operators.
BICARmed® main features:
- Closed cabin to isolate the working area
- Gloves to avoid contact with dangerous contaminants
- Possibility to work while seated
- Automatic doors
- Internal touch panel
- Automatic tray loading and unloading
- Possibility to sanitize the internal walls of the cabin at the end of the working day
Clean RMDs, less maintenance and replacement costs
BICARmed® uses only SAFEKlinic sodium bicarbonate that does not abrade instruments surfaces because the granules are very soft and upon impact with the surface, they absorb the kinetic energy, breaking down into a very fine powder which dissolves completely into the water.
Due to the fact that sodium bicarbonate has a pH 8, it is not corroding the steel surfaces, without any chemical aggression. It can be discharged into sewage after the complete dissolution into water, without pollution and/or overloading the sewage treatment plant.
Removing the biofilm, the hospital can reintroduce many tools intended for elimination because they no longer respond to the provided safety rules.
BICARmed ® technology:
- Removes and prevents the biofilm deposition
- Reduces maintenance by eliminating the surface oxidations as well as the inorganic residues
- Maintains unaltered the tool surface protection layer for the durability benefit
Better cleaning, patient safety
BICARmed® technology guarantees more efficiency in the pre-cleaning and in the complete sterilization cycle because the tools arrived in the WDs and in the sterilizers with protein residues less than 3 μg/cm2, that means complying to the ISO 15883-5 norm, reporting the maximum accepted level of 5 μg/cm2 proteins.
BICARmed treatment allows to treat cavities less than 100 µ with great effectiveness and accuracy and to flush all cannulated instruments maintaining their patency and thus avoiding the risk of obstruction. The system produces a result comparable to high-precision mechanical brushing, with no abrasion. Simulations show that one second of this treatment is equivalent to 40 seconds of manual brushing.
Cleaning speed time increased generating higher productivity in the sterilization cycle with reintroduction of the surgery kits in operations.
Top cleaning level produces less post-operation infections.
BICARmed ® solutions has:
- Nozzle for cleaning with baking soda and for rinsing with pressurized water
- Specific tips for cleaning the cannulas
- Glass with magnifying glass
- Specific baking soda granulometry to be more effective without scratching RMDs surfaces
SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY
The non-toxicity of sodium bicarbonate and the isolation of the work area that prevents contact with dangerous contaminants guarantees maximum safety for the operator and the environment. BICARmed® Technology is the only solution totally safe for operators because the treatment is performed into a closed cabin using only water, air pressure and sodium bicarbonate, without chemicals.

FAST AND EFFECTIVE
One way to pre-wash all instruments in few seconds: endoscopic optics, motor drills, cannulas, fragile instruments, generic and specialized instruments, even from the most difficult-to-clean compounds.

NO-ABRASIVE AND NO- CORROSIVE
SAFEKlinic® sodium bicarbonate is completely soluble, and biodegradable. Due to the fact that sodium bicarbonate has a pH 8, it can be discharged into sewage after the complete dissolution into water, without pollution and/or overloading the sewage treatment plant.
It is not abrasive because the granules are very soft and upon impact with the surface, they absorb the kinetic energy.
